Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots at The Rams Head Live in Baltimore December 16th 2013.
This show was one of the most crazy beautiful shows of my life. A friend invited me and though I hadnt heard much of any of the bands performing I agreed because it was a concert and I am a concert junkie. I had only heard about 3 Twenty One Pilots songs so my level of excitement was not very high. I liked what I heard but was a bit pessimistic. So after two (extremely talented) performed it was time for Twenty One Pilots and my friend was almost in tears. I didn’t get it at all. She had told me about how their music had changed her life and how amazing they were but I had yet to be convinced. One song in and I was sold. I have never seen such a sense of oneness with a crowd. No one was angry or trying to ruin the experience for anyone else. At one point I couldn’t move my arms but I was being picked up by the crowd and I had no cares in the world (which is big for me because I have pretty bad PTSD so I get anxiety in large crowds). The way Tyler spoke to the crowd was not at all assuming or arrogant. He seemed genuinely happy to be performing for the crowd. He was relatable and extremely talented. The lyrics started to hit me in a different way. At the start of the night I was pretty excited to get home but by the end I wanted it to continue for hours. I don’t think I will ever have this kind of experience again. I am immensely grateful to everyone involved in this show. It was wonderful.
